After Hours Hospital Coordinators

Permanent Part Time, Full Time (1.4 FTE required)

Monday to Sunday (outside of business hours including weekends and public holidays).

Flexible work arrangements.

Remuneration as a Clinical Nurse Level 2.4 ($57.29 per hour base rate, penalties apply).

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and motivated After Hours Hospital Coordinators to provide leadership and expert nursing knowledge in care delivered by Registered & Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing.

This role acts as a resource person for all staff, patients, and their families; whilst assuming responsibility for the out of business hours management of the hospital including admissions and patient flow, bed management, and human resource management.

There are multiple opportunities available to fill 1.4 FTE across a Monday to Sunday roster, 4PM - 12AM.

Main duties include:

• Manages the human, financial, and physical resources of the hospital in an effective and efficient manner.
• Supports the Unit Managers in modelling the ethos of the hospital, its policies and procedures.
• Uses advanced problem-solving strategies to ensure the safe, effective and efficient delivery of clinical care.
• Ensures the application and compliance with current legislation and standards that govern clinical practice.
• Actively manages issues that may impact patient safety.
• Uses advanced communication skills when interacting with patients, families/carers, and health professionals.
• Promotes effective leadership through positive role modelling, team building and decision making, promoting and contributing to a supportive work environment.
• Manages the performance of self and others within the clinical setting through participation in the workplace review process.
• Promotes positive public relations with patients, peers, medical staff and members of the general public.

Selection Criteria

Essential

• Registered as a General Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

• Sound knowledge of hospital policies, procedures and processes.

• Ability to manage a designated portfolio within agreed timelines with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated recent advanced nursing practice skills, in an acute care setting with a minimum of 5 years' experience.

• Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Demonstrated well developed communication and interpersonal skills with proven leaderships skills.

Desirable

• Well-developed computing skills, word, excel, outlook.
