This role will be based onsite at our Avington Point Cook Village, located in Point Cook, Victoria. It is a vibrant over 50's lifestyle community designed for those seeking an active and fulfilling lifestyle. Surrounded by natural beauty and close to essential amenities, the village offers modern, low-maintenance homes and a range of premium facilities, including a Clubhouse equipped with swimming pool, gym, sauna library and sports bar.

We are currently looking for a Full – Time Grounds and Maintenance Officer. The rate of pay for this role is based on the Hospitality General Award.

Some emergency on-call responsibilities required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting into the Village Manager you must be able to work autonomously or as part of a team. You will be responsible for the overall upkeep and improvement of our grounds and gardens, as well as general maintenance of our park.

You must enjoy working around people and be able to communicate easily and confidently. You will take pride in your appearance, be self-motivated, have an eye for detail, a passion for maintenance, grounds and gardens, and a willingness to learn and apply learnt knowledge.

The position will provide you with variety and a rewarding role.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in grounds and property maintenance in a hospitality environment; however, this is not essential as training will be provided to the right person.

The successful applicant will require a Drivers Licence.

Gardening & Grounds Maintenance: Perform general garden and grounds upkeep, including lawn and garden maintenance, hedging, pruning, planning and mulching, leaf blowing, rubbish and debris removal, application of herbicides and pesticides. You will be competent in the use of items such as Ride on & Push mowers, hedge trimmers, whipper snippers, chainsaws, high powered hand tools.

General Maintenance: Assist the Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor with basic repairs and maintenance of, plant equipment, Facilities and Communal areas. Demonstrated handyperson skills and experience are highly regarded.
