The Opportunity:

Hall Contracting is looking to welcome a Mechanical Supervisor to our Sunshine Coast workshop with experience on civil construction and marine equipment This opportunity will combine local work based in our Sunshine Coast workshop, also with exposure to FIFO projects. Across Australia we have projects in almost every state from Mooloolaba beach QLD to the Pilbara WA, and internationally we have projects in countries including Indonesia, Fiji and the pacific islands, offering you diversity and an exciting chance to see the country and the world

Working closely with the Marine Maintenance Coordinator, the Mechanical Supervisor will allocate tasks, provide technical support, perform quality checks, and assist with sourcing machinery parts and workshop consumables to maintain operational readiness across the fleet and plant.

*These roles will be primarily based in Hall Contracting's Sunshine Coast workshop. It is essential for successful applicants to live in (or be willing to relocate to) this area*

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with WHS legislation, Hall Contracting procedures, and OEM guidelines.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to a safe and reliable standard while achieving cost-effective outcomes.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with environmental and quality requirements.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to junior fitters and apprentices.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance performed.
• Demonstrate leadership consistent with the Hall Way and foster a positive, safety-focused team culture.
• Supervise and direct small maintenance teams when deployed to perform repairs or servicing on equipment outside of the workshop (on site).
• Actively participate in daily prestart meetings and contribute to continuous improvement in safety, maintenance, and production.
• Conduct and verify quality checks on all service and repair work to ensure workmanship meets required standards.
• Preventative maintenance and repairs to a wide range of machines from our BA 900 Backactor (Australia's largest backhoe dredge) to our fleet of Cutter suction dredges (IHC, Damen vessels), boost pumps, work boats and our amphibious Watermaster dredge's

About You:

• Post trade experience on civil construction equipment (excavators, moxy, dozers, graders etc.) ESSENTIAL
• Heavy Diesel or Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate ESSENTIAL
• Hydraulic/electrical systems, and pump experience would be beneficial
• MUST have the flexibility to participate in FIFO projects according to demands (flights and accommodation will be provided)
• Experience in component rebuilds of engines, transmissions, Hydraulic components would be beneficial.
• Previous experience in a leadership/supervision role highly regarded
• Thorough understanding of safety management systems highly regarded
• Experience with Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi or Caterpillar machines is beneficial
• Experience with marine equipment (vessels, workboats, barges, dredges) is highly regarded
• Self-driven, reliable, high interest in the mechanical trades
