Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join our national Transport Planning team and assist in the development of the Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering business.

This role will ideally be based in Sydney, Brisbane or our Gold Coast office, yet you will play a pivotal part in our national Advisory, Planning and Transport business unit.

Our transport planning team operates in a supportive leadership environment. We provide hybrid working policy, flexible working hours, and access to global resources.

Role accountabilities:
The objectives of the role are to:

  • Lead and contribute to transport planning projects, including active transport, public transport and multimodal strategies, plans, studies and options assessment
  • Undertake multimodal network and infrastructure planning for corridors, interchanges and precincts
  • Prepare high-quality reports and presentations that clearly communicate analyses and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
  • Undertake and review traffic engineering assessments, including intersection operation, road safety, local area traffic management, and traffic impact assessments
  • Ensure proactive collaboration and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders, on projects and pursuits
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Build and maintain valuable networks within the industry.

Qualification & Experience:
You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in transport planning, including active transport, public transport, multi-modal network planning and/ or precinct development.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing transport strategies, plans, studies and options assessments
  • Sound knowledge of traffic engineering principles, including road safety, intersection operations, and local area traffic management
  • Ability to translate strategic transport visions into operational advice and practical design recommendations
  • Excellent written communication
  • Excellent verbal communication, relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead self and others, including more junior members of the team, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills
  • Experience in project management and working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams and/ or project teams
  • Demonstrated technical and commercial acumen
  • 6+ years relevant experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, planning, or a related field.
