Operations Supervisor – Cambridge
Are you a hands-on leader who thrives on keeping operations running like clockwork? We're looking for an Operations Supervisor to join our Cambridge team In this role, you'll take the lead on day-to-day operations, support your team, and make a real impact every single day.
What you'll do:
- Coordinate and schedule daily driver runs and weekly work plans
- Deliver driver debriefs, manage OHS reporting, attend council meetings, and handle incidents
- Lead ToolBox meetings and ensure everyone is informed and safe
- Drive a high level of customer service internally and externally, resolving service issues quickly
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency across all scopes of work
- Check run sheets and connect with drivers at the end of each day
- Lead performance management investigations and follow through on outcomes
- Promote a Safety First "Home Safe" culture by conducting Time in Field Assessments and regularly reviewing Safe Work Method Statements, Work Instructions, and Job Hazard Analyses
Who we're looking for:
We want a motivated, approachable leader with a can-do attitude who thrives in a team environment. You'll be a trusted go-to person for your team and ready to handle the tricky conversations when needed.
Skills and experience that will set you up for success:
- Experience in a supervisory role, ideally within waste, logistics, or transport
- Strong people leadership skills, including supporting your team and having difficult conversations
- Solid understanding of HSE and environmental legislation, with a focus on safety above all else
- Familiarity with safety management systems, compliance, and fatigue management
- Intermediate skills in Excel and Word
- Exposure to P&L/branch financials is a plus
- Resilient, confident, and comfortable in challenging situations
- Organised and able to implement your own systems to keep operations on track
