Cleaning Labourer

Council is seeking to appoint a permanent part time Cleaning Labourer to contribute to Council's success.

  • Permanent Part Time | Working 6am to 12pm Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
  • Based at the Gladstone Depot
  • Better Balance, Better Benefits with GRC

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to support Council's direction by undertaking maintenance cleaning services for amenities, buildings and facilities throughout the Gladstone Region, in accordance with Council's priorities and services.

Your role will include:

  • Working cross functionally across numerous sites – predominantly servicing community and corporate buildings
  • Promoting a positive Workplace Health and Safety culture and ensuring active compliance.

You will bring:

  • Labouring skills to carry out maintenance cleaning activities on a daily basis.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

  • Sound communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient skills and experience using technical devices.

  • Must be eligible and willing to obtain on appointment, a positive notice Working with Children Blue Card.

  • Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.

Eligibility & Pre-employment Checks

To be eligible for this position, the candidate must have applicable working rights.

This position requires immunisation against Hepatitis A/B and Tetanus.

Depending on the role requirements, you may need to complete various checks and assessments as part of the recruitment process. This could include reference checks, pre-employment medicals (including drug and alcohol testing), vaccinations, visa checks, licence verifications and psychometric testing.
