Senior IT Systems Engineer

8 Months Contract with possible extension

DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our federal Government Client team. We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer with a broad range of skills and a strong background in the Microsoft technology stack.

Role responsibilities

  • Manage and configure Microsoft 365 Defender to protect against advanced threats.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code scripts using Azure Bicep.
  • Automate deployment processes and ensure consistency across environments.
  • Administering Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops or Updating Citrix/VMWare VDI Images.
  • Automating IT and System Tasks with PowerShell.
  • Docker Container Administration and Deployments.
  • Integrate ISM or NIST security controls into system builds.

Skills

  • Experience supporting and maintaining Windows Server and desktop environments
  • Skilled in managing Windows operating systems using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune/SCCM), both on-premises and cloud-based
  • Proficient in application packaging for desktop and server software deployments
  • Experienced in documenting system build processes and operational procedures for users and administrators
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure services.
  • Competent in managing Windows and application patching processes
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure tenancies
  • Skilled in managing and supporting VMware infrastructure
  • Proficient in scripting and automating system administration tasks using PowerShell
  • Experience with Docker container administration and deployments
  • Working knowledge of Jira for project and task tracking
  • Experience implementing PSPF ISM.
  • Skilled in administering SQL Server environments
  • Experience administering Dynamics 365 (PowerApps), both on-premises and cloud.
  • Competent in managing SharePoint Online and SharePoint On-Premises environments.
