About The Role
Reporting to the Signal Supervisor, the Senior Signal Maintenance Technician will provide leadership and guidance to members of the team and drawing on prior experience obtained through the industry.

As a senior member of the team, you will also provide relevant training and support to Signal Maintenance Technicians and Trainee Signal Maintenance Technicians.

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the maintenance and installation of work on signalling and communications equipment.
  • Assist with the allocated routine maintenance tasks to accord with the technical maintenance plan and servicing schedules and enter task-completing reports to the maintenance management system.
  • Assist with the use of service schedules and maintenance instructions to guide reactive and preventative activities.

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following key selection criteria within their application, as this forms part of our merit-based recruitment process:

  • A Certificate III – Electrotechnology.
  • Certificate IV in Rail Signalling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meet V/Line's Rail Industry Worker safety benchmarks.
  • Minimum five years' experience as a Signal Technician with proven expertise in installation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of railway signalling systems.
  • Current Driver's License.
  • Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023.

The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural interview and a medical risk category 1 check.
