OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for maintaining the artistic standards and techniques set by the company, ensuring the level of service provided maintains high professional standards at all times in cutting, colouring and styling

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:


• Welcoming customers and identifying their preferences by asking pointed questions.


• Advising clients on suitable haircuts as well as hairstyles and hair colour based on their physical features and hair type.


• Washing, rinsing and drying clients' hair using appropriate shampoos and conditioners (e.g. for oily hair or dry scalps)


• Cutting, trimming, and shaping clients' hair as well as wigs, hair extensions, hairpieces, and toupes based on clients' preferences and specifications.


• Using hairstyling tools and equipment, including hair straighteners, curling irons, rollers, hairdryers, and hot combs, to style clients' hair accordingly.


• Applying a wide range of hair colouring techniques, like highlights, ombre and balayage.


• Creating hairstyles for formal events and everyday looks, including braids, ponytails and buns.


• Appling hair treatment products, as needed (e.g. colour protection creams and hydrating masks).


• Forming bonds with loyal customers and remember their hairstyle preferences.


• Managing bookings and serve walk-ins


• Ensuring tidiness of beauty stations and sterilize tools, as needed.


• Cleaning and sterilizing all hairdressing tools and instruments to ensure that state health and safety standards are met.


• Operating the cash register to process client payments when necessary.


• Attending all relevant training as directed from time to time.

TRAINING:

 Soirée nights occur seasonally.  It is expected that all staff will attend and learn the new styles and techniques we will promote throughout that season.

Training nights occur for all staff when required, e.g. New product launch's etc. It is expected that you will attend occasional product knowledge sessions in order for you to be able to professionally recommend our clients the appropriate products.

 All new staff joining the company will complete a personalised training programme to familiarise themselves with Maurice Meade standards and procedures. Attendance at skills workshops may be required throughout your employment with Maurice Meade in order to update and maintain a high standard of skills.

Any hairshows, seminars or industry events are attended at your own leisure.  We do encourage these activities for personal inspiration and motivation.

Salary $72,000 - $90, % Super
