Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
Diagnose mechanical faults and undertake repairs to minimize downtime.
Assemble, install, and modify mechanical components and industrial equipment.
Conduct inspections, testing, and calibrations to ensure machinery operates within required specifications.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for mechanical repairs.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company procedures.
Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and production teams to improve operational efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report issues to supervisors.
Skills & Experience Required:
Trade qualification (Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, Fitting & Turning, or equivalent mechanical trade qualification).
Minimum 2-3 years proven experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, preferably in manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gears, and rotating equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical faults and perform root cause analysis.
Experience with welding and fabrication is advantageous.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of workplace health and safety standards.
Australian work rights (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)

Valid Australian driver's licence
Desirable:
Forklift license
Confined space and working at heights certification
First Aid certification
Welding certification
White Card (Construction Induction Card)
