About the role:
You'll be embedded within the Engaged Community Division and take part in structured rotations across key portfolios, partnering with community development specialists, customer experience experts, unique design and marketing professionals and more.
The Engaged Community Division plays a vital role in fostering connection, wellbeing, and inclusion across our City. The Division delivers a diverse range of services and programs to support informed, healthy, and connected communities. From delivering vibrant events, to engaging our community on social media and ensuring our community's health and safety, the Engaged Community Division works collaboratively to enhance people's lives through genuine human connection, excellence in service and placing customers at the heart of everything we do.
You will contribute to real projects aligned with your field of study, organisational priorities, and community outcomes. The structure is flexible, allowing each graduate's journey to reflect their interests, capabilities, and the evolving needs of the organisation.
This immersive approach ensures you develop a deep understanding of local government operations while building the skills and confidence to grow a successful and impactful career.
About You:
We are seeking a progressive and well-rounded graduate to join our team. If you are excited by the opportunity to research, analyse, create and publish to foster positive change, in a diverse organisation with real people, we want to hear from you. You will be:
- A polished communicator with creative ideas
- Able to support with design, engagement and project work
- Confident in survey design & research
- Curious to explore data & analytics
- A curious and comprehensive researcher
- Eager to build stakeholder engagement skills
- Have successfully completed a tertiary qualification in Politics, Law, Justice, and Humanities or Social Sciences.

The Detail:
A graduate employee will enjoy:
- A full-time, fixed-term contract for a period of two years
- Starting salary from $83,707.85 per annum + Superannuation + Annual Leave Loading, including personal leave and annual leave too
- The chance to be part of one of the most creative teams in Council
