Thompson's Roller Shutters Pty Ltd, located in Turrella near Sydney Airport, and is one of Australia's oldest and most recognized names in the industrial and commercial door industry. Manufacturer of industrial roller shutters and sectional doors for over 90 years.

The position

We have an opportunity for an experienced warehouse worker to join our friendly and busy team. The position entails forklift driving, mechanical parts selection and interpretation, and picking packing for delivery.

This would suit someone who has previous experience working in a hardware store or industry where heavy items storage is involved.

NO VISA HOLDERS AS THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION.

The Role:

• Join our team in the manufacture of roller shutters, fire shutters and sectional doors
• A unique, hands-on environment that demands resourcefulness and physical engagement. Must have good organisational ability and awareness of where items are stored so they can be retrieved for delivery when required.

Job tasks are:

• constantly moving various finished items via gantry crane and or forklift for storage when they are complete and retrieval when they are ready for delivery
• grouping and packing items together as components are manufactured in different areas and brought up to the loading dock/store.
• arranging items in designated area/store.
• loading and unloading trucks using gantry crane or forklift.
• packing pallets with finished items to send via transport.
• receiving incoming deliveries
• retrieving items from storage,
• navigating narrow aisles,
• moving and organizing materials as they are brought up from the production area.

The applicant we are looking for must:

• Acknowledge that the role is physically active and requires a degree of physical capability
• Be a motivated worker.
• Have a good team working ethic.
• Be able to take initiative and think ahead/ forward planner.
• Have a forklift licence
• Be able to communicate with others
• Car drivers' licence ( a bonus for forklift duties)

Physical requirements:

The applicant must have physical dexterity and agility for tasks requiring movement and spatial awareness

• Ability to lift or move certain weights.
• Constant movement, bending, or reaching.
• Comfort working in compact or tight spaces
• Acknowledge that the role is physically active and requires a degree of physical capability
