About the role:

The Assistant Store Manager is accountable for the performance of the store. This includes a particular emphasis on ensuring that all staff perform to expectation along with any other duties as directed by the Store Manager.

We're looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic Assistant Store Manager to support the Belmont Store Manager. As a hands-on leader, that is passionate about customer experience, you will help guide the team to run an efficient, profitable and successful store

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service

  • Achieve key performance objectives

  • Ensure adequate stock levels to meet market demands

  • Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to sales staff

  • Complete store & warehouse administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures and asset control

  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards

  • Propose innovative ideas to increase market share

  • Conduct staff performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths

  • Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers

  • Drive local area marketing in conjunction with the Head Office marketing team

  • Initiate and attend product, sales, and merchandise training

  • Manage and facilitate stocktakes

Experience:

  • Proven successful experience in retail

  • Strong organisational & time management skills

  • Customer service orientation skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Preferably previous experience in the electrical appliance or furniture retail
