Welder – Ferntree Gully VIC

Kogan People Solutions are working with a proven industry leader, located in Ferntree Gully, VIC, who specialise in custom-built gates and fencing, offering design, manufacturing, and installation services. They also provide gate automation and access control systems for homes and businesses.

As the business continues to enlarge the company is looking to recruit a skilled experienced welder, to join their production team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing quality welding work and will attend to all tasks safely and effectively, utilising well developed knowledge of materials and appropriate standards.

Location – Ferntree Gully VIC

Tenure – Full time and ongoing

Salary – negotiable in the range $75,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

About you:

You have a passion for the metalworking industry and are up to date on the latest industrial and safety techniques. Your work history shows you demonstrate an unwavering commitment to welding of the highest quality, whilst working within a cohesive and hardworking team environment. You have worked with metals including stainless steel and aluminium.

Responsibilities will include:

• Interpret technical engineering plans (blueprints and other relevant drawings)
• Skilfully select, prepare assemble and finish, high quality items.
• Set and skilfully use MIG, TIG and Stick welds and other types of welds based on project needs.
• Operate heat and thermal cutting equipment.
• Operate other relevant machinery in the factory.
• Assemble and tack components.

To succeed in this role, you:

• Are suitably qualified (equivalent to a Certificate IV) in a highly relevant field of study.
• Have at least 1 or more years trade experience since earning your qualifications working in similar roles.
• Have great attention to detail, high quality of work and proven experience in the Welding field.
• Able to skilfully read and interpret blueprints.
• Work with a high level of safety awareness.
• Experienced in MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
• Working knowledge of CNC programming and usage.
• Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
• Enjoy working in and around cohesive teams and follow instructions.
• Be very safety conscious, comfortable always using PPE.

You must have unrestricted full time Australian working rights to be considered.
