Job reference: 699328
Location: ADELAIDE
Job status: Ongoing
Eligibility: Open to Everyone
At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, we are connecting South Australia to keep our State moving. We are responsible for delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transformative transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city's public transport network.
Our work encompasses every part of our State; from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community. We value diversity and inclusion and foster an environment of collaboration, flexibility, and support for our people.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and community-minded Senior Housing Officer to join our Government Employee Housing (GEH) team. Reporting to the Manager, Government Employee Housing, you will play an important role in supporting government employees living and working across regional South Australia.
You will manage a portfolio of government-owned and leased properties, acting as the main contact for tenants and ensuring homes are well maintained, tenancies are managed effectively, and vacancies are minimised to make the best use of available housing.
Alongside your portfolio responsibilities, you will help improve housing services by refining processes, supporting colleagues with systems and procedures, and promoting consistency across the GEH program.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference for regional communities. You'll collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to solve problems, implement improvements, and deliver high-quality outcomes. You'll also have the chance to mentor others, manage resources, and support positive change initiatives. Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills will help you thrive and make a meaningful impact.
About You
You are someone who delivers customer-focused services that align with strategic goals and values. You build strong relationships, engage confidently with stakeholders, and handle sensitive or complex matters with professionalism and care.
You have experience leading and motivating others to improve service performance and can apply broad knowledge to implement practical, innovative solutions that support change and manage risk. Your ability to act with urgency and sound judgement allows you to navigate challenges effectively.
With a strong understanding of customer needs, you consistently deliver positive experiences while working within established systems and policies. You are confident in analysing complex issues, providing expert advice, and responding with agility. Extensive knowledge and experience in residential property and tenancy management, along with an awareness of the social, economic, and commercial factors that influence service delivery, will help you thrive in this role.
