A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a General Manager Network Operations reporting to the Executive General Manager Networks & Customer Service.
A bit about your role
As the General Manager Network Operations, you will lead one of nbn's most critical functions, ensuring the resilience and reliability of Australia's digital backbone. You will oversee the end-to-end management of network operations, including major incident response, emergency preparedness and restoration, network change and power resilience strategies. Your leadership will shape how we manage planned and unplanned outages, safeguard service continuity, and deliver on our purpose of uplifting Australia's digital capability.
This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence across a complex, 24x7 environment. You will be the senior liaison with Retail Service Providers, government agencies, and emergency services, ensuring collaboration and clarity during high-pressure situations. From leading major incident management across multiple technologies to optimising power strategies and resilience programs, your decisions will have a direct impact on millions of Australians. You will also champion customer experience initiatives, working across the business to embed improvements that strengthen trust and transparency.

You are an accomplished senior leader with deep expertise in telecommunications network operations and a proven ability to navigate complexity with confidence and care. With demonstrated experience in executive roles, you bring a balance of technical insight, commercial acumen, and customer focus. You thrive in dynamic environments, demonstrating resilience and clarity when guiding teams through challenging situations. Your collaborative approach and enterprise mindset enable you to influence diverse stakeholders and inspire your teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
You combine strategic vision with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented style, ensuring operational priorities are met while driving transformation and innovation. Your experience spans emergency and incident management, large-scale network operations, and stakeholder engagement at the highest levels. Above all, you lead with purpose, motivating others, fostering trust, and championing progress in a way that reflects nbn's commitment to keeping Australia connected.
