Where you'll be working

The Radiology Department at Belmont Hospital is just a short 5-minute drive from beautiful Lake Macquarie. Our dynamic team provides vital imaging support to a busy Emergency Department, inpatient wards, operating theatres, and a range of outpatient clinics—including an onsite after-hours GP clinic. We deliver high-quality diagnostic services across X-ray, OPG, Ultrasound, and CT, and proudly operate a mobile outreach X-ray service that brings imaging care directly to aged care facilities throughout the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region.

What you'll be doing

This position offers a dynamic blend of clinical and administrative responsibilities, with the balance varying according to the day-to-day needs of the service. The Chief Radiographer will demonstrate the flexibility to step confidently into clinical duties when required, while also overseeing and optimising the operational performance of the department.

You'll be well supported in this role by the Chief Radiographer, Greater Metropolitan, and a close-knit network of professional colleagues across Hunter New England Imaging (HNEI).

About you

The Service plays a vital role in supporting the hospital's key clinical activities and requires a Chief Radiographer who is patient-focused, hospital-oriented, and a proactive planner and communicator. In a close-knit team that provides extended hours and weekend coverage, the Chief Radiographer will skillfully balance the needs of both staff and the organisation—fostering a sustainable, motivated, and high-performing workforce dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • Diagnostic Radiographic qualifications recognised in NSW
  • Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner (Diagnostic Radiographer) (current or eligible for same)
