General Practitioner

• Location: Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC)
• Employment Type: Part-Time (up to 65 hours/fortnight), Ongoing

About the role:

An exciting opportunity is available for a General Practitioner providing primary care for one of Victoria's most vulnerable populations. Based at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, this role provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a patient cohort marked by complex health needs, trauma and disadvantage. You'll join a dedicated, multidisciplinary team in a progressive model of care that prioritises women's health, chronic disease management and the specific needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.

Key responsibilities: 

• Providing Primary Care to patients at DPFC
• Participate in the on-call roster

About you: 

• Be an experienced General Practitioner with current AHPRA registration and specialist GP qualification (e.g., RACGP, ACRRM)
• Demonstrate capability in quality improvement
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including custodial and community-based services

Western Health also provides the primary healthcare service at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, a women's prison located in Ravenhall.
