Pirate Life Brewing was founded in 2014. After a five-day journey across the Nullarbor Plain, we landed in Adelaide, established a brewery, and spent the next seven years building a brand. In that time, we've gone from three founders to a crew of over one hundred, built four venues across Australia, and cemented ourselves as one of the country's most recognisable craft brands.

Pirate Life Port Adelaide is our spiritual home with 24 beers on tap, fresh and tasty favourites on the menu and an inclusive hospitality experience second to none. With the brewery as the backdrop, an expansive beer garden, arcade games and shuffleboard, the venue has plenty to get excited about.

This role will be no exception and have a huge focus on people. Hospitality to us is delivering the best possible customer experience and we work backwards from there. Our staff need all the tools and support to be able to give their best and as the Assistant Venue Manager it would be your responsibility to create this kind of positive working environment.

The role:
Now onto the good stuff, we are on the lookout for a charismatic, customer facing Assistant Venue Manager to join our Port Adelaide team on a full-time basis. The role will drive our leaders and wider team in day-to-day running of the venue, and have a special focus on customer experience, people development and positive team culture.
Responsibilities include:
- Hands on leadership and accountability of the team
- Creating and maintaining an atmosphere where customer service comes first
- An ability to thrive under pressure and lead your team in a high paced environment
- Proven ability to be a proactive individual with strong organisational and time management skills
- A strong understanding and ability to control operational costs; including (but not limited to) cost of goods and wage costs
- A strong appreciation and compliance of workplace safety
- A love to lead from the front and set the best of examples
What You've Got
- Suitable experience in a similar role of hospitality management
- You're driven by a delivering the best customer experience and making the venue (and the people in it) feel good
- Passion for the hospitality industry spanning across all areas including food and beverage.
- A keen interest in people, your team, and the ability to manage their development

We are offering full time hours, working a spread of shifts over a 7-day roster; including weekdays, weekends, nights and public holidays.
