About the team

The Education team research, design, develop and iterate AICD learning solutions through the product management lifecycle with a focus on quality and performance. This includes our flagship programs Company Directors Course, Foundations of Directorship, and Boardroom Mastery - along with webinars, short courses, In house programs and e-learning modules. They ensure all offerings set the global standard in governance education by being current, effective, and future fit.

The team is comprised of Education Proposition, responsible for prioritised education and digital strategic initiatives, and Curriculum, responsible for new and revised education products and services.

About the role

As a Senior Instructional Designer, you'll drive the contemporary design and development of AICD's education programs, ensuring high-quality, learner-centric outcomes across all delivery modes. You'll collaborate with subject matter experts, partners and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative, impactful learning experiences tailored to the needs of our members and clients.

You'll also mentor Learning Designers and champion best practice in instructional design, technology-enabled learning, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing creativity with structure and has a passion for designing programs that inspire and develop leaders.

Your remit will be broad and will include:

  • Lead the design and development of AICD education programs across in-person, online and self-directed formats.

  • Champion innovation by identifying new opportunities to enhance the learner experience and strengthen AICD's curriculum.

  • Apply adult learning and human-centred design principles to create engaging, outcome-focused learning experiences.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, faculty, and partners to develop cohesive and impactful programs that align with AICD's mission.

  • Oversee project delivery – managing timelines, budgets and resources to ensure quality outcomes and on-time delivery.

  • Implement quality assurance and continuous improvement practices, integrating learner feedback and performance data.

  • Mentor and guide Learning Designers, fostering collaboration, creativity and excellence within the team.

  • Engage and influence key stakeholders across the organisation and externally to ensure alignment, support, and successful program outcomes.

  • Stay ahead of trends in executive education, learning design and technology to ensure AICD programs remain current, effective and future-focused.

About you

You will have strong technical aptitude and previous relevant experience, and you will champion the AICD "OneTeam" approach and values of: Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Collaboration. In addition, you will also have the following:

  • Proven experience in designing and developing executive or adult learning programs across multiple modalities.

  • Relevant qualifications in instructional design, education development, or human-centred design.

  • Experience with authoring tools, multimedia software, and Learning Management Systems.

  • Strong project management skills and experience coordinating multiple initiatives concurrently.

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of trends and challenges within executive education and innovative learning design.

  • Corporate governance knowledge is desirable.
