About the role

Affectable is seeking a Biomedical Engineer with hands-on experience working with conductive silicones for integration into biomedical devices. The position involves advanced research and development focused on the electro-mechanical design, fabrication, and testing of silicone-based components for wearable biomedical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and characterize conductive silicone formulations suitable for integration into biomedical sensors and devices
  • Conduct R&D on electro-mechanical integration of conductive silicones with embedded electronics and sensor interfaces
  • Support prototype manufacturing processes, including molding, bonding, and overmolding of silicone assemblies
  • Perform testing and analysis of mechanical, electrical, and biocompatibility properties of silicone-based components
  • Document research outcomes, process parameters, and validation results for transfer into manufacturing

Skills and experience

  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with conductive silicones or polymer composites
  • Practical experience in electro-mechanical integration or soft-material device fabrication
  • Familiarity with medical device design and manufacturing practices
  • Strong experimental, analytical, and documentation skills

Desirable

  • Experience with silicone molding, bonding, or curing techniques
  • Knowledge of biocompatibility testing and regulatory considerations for medical materials
  • Experience in R&D or production of EEG, ECG, or similar biosensing systems
