Join I‑MED's state‑wide network delivering Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT services. We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Physician or dual‑trained Radiologist to provide clinical leadership, deliver outstanding patient care and grow molecular imaging services across Tasmania.

About the position:

Lead and oversee nuclear medicine and PET/CT services across the Tasmanian network. Provide specialist interpretation and reporting, manage patient pathways, maintain clinical governance and safety, and implement service improvements including protocol optimisation. Position will be based primarily in Hobart or Launceston with travel required between both on a weekly basis.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead PET/CT and nuclear medicine services statewide.
  • Provide expert reporting and clinical input for complex cases.
  • Coordinate patient‑centred imaging pathways and referrals.
  • Maintain NSQHS, DIAS, radiation safety and WHS compliance.
  • Drive service improvement and protocol optimisation.
  • Build strong relationships with referrers, hospitals and MDTs.

About you:

  • Current AHPRA registration as Medical Practitioner and Nuclear Medicine Specialist.
  • Dual‑trained Radiologist with RANZCR Diagnostic CT accreditation is desirable.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physician (FRACP) and/or Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).
  • Possess, or be eligible for, a Radiation Use Licence in Tasmania.
  • Demonstrated competence in diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine, including PET/CT and stress testing.
