About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new and growing Transmission and Major Projects team as a Project Scheduler in a full-time and permanent capacity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.

In this pivotal project role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing construction-related project schedules. You'll also collaborate closely with project leaders and stakeholders to ensure schedules are realistic, optimized, and aligned with project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules, master plans, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) across all project phases, ensuring consistency and alignment with project scope and strategy.
  • Apply accepted project scheduling techniques to prepare a detailed work program which clearly defines the Critical Path and shows task dependencies.
  • Review, comment and highlight gaps in vendor, sub-contractor and consultant schedule submittals and incorporate appropriate information into the work program.
  • Track schedule performance, generate reports (e.g. S-curves, earned value), identify risks or delays, and recommend mitigation strategies including schedule compression and contingency planning.
  • Identifying activities impacting the schedule's critical path and facilitating the identification of opportunities to accelerate completion of the work, or measures to avoid potential delays.
  • Proactively identify scheduling issues and provide early warning of schedule slippage and provide options to project lead to mitigate any issues.
  • Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to align schedules, review submissions, and act as the primary contact for scheduling-related matters.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in one of the following disciplines – Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture or Project Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certification through Oracle, Project Management Institute (PMI), AIPM or other similar organisations which focus on recognition of expertise in Project Management is beneficial.
  • Proven experience in project scheduling within construction or infrastructure environments.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software including Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and critical path analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
