Head Chef

Based in Central QLD, this camp facilities provides accommodation services to workers and contractors engaged for nearby construction works, our 400 bed camp operates a full commercial kitchen with our kitchen team responsible for preparing breakfast, crib/ lunch and dinner for all guests.

Although your primary focus will be coordination of the dining services including menu, stock control, ordering, leading the kitchen team and being responsible for the food safety program, you will also lead by example and be hands on in the kitchen.

Key capabilities and requirements include:

• Chef Trade Qualification
• Food Safety Supervisor Qualification (SITSS00069)
• Experience developing menus, ordering and stock control
• Leadership experience in running a commercial kitchen and supervising staff
• High standards in food storage and preparation methods
• Strong time management skills
• Intermediate computer skills including the Microsoft applications eg. Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate previous experience working in a large scale restaurant environment, or previous camp experience.

You will ideally be local to the area and work an initial 14 days on, 7 days off roster, however drive in (DIDO) and fly in (FIFO) arrangements within Queensland will certainly be considered for experienced and qualified candidates. Please note that appointment is subject to various pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical.
