Production Fitter

As a Production Fitter (Lubrication/Fitter and Turner) at Wilmar Sugar and Renewables, during the crushing you'll be responsible for helping to ensure the continuous running of fixed plant equipment and machinery, condition monitoring plant, lubrication analysis and assisting the maintenance team to carry out repairs and overhauls on a wide variety of fixed plant.

This permanent position is based at Pioneer Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Burdekin region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work.

This position follows a year-round day work roster pattern (with RDOs most Fridays) and may require some weekend work and overtime.

Your Role in Action

• Carry out inspection of factory plant and equipment and provide condition reports.
• Install and monitor plant and equipment.
• Fault-find on factory plant and equipment.
• Ensure control systems are operating correctly and are adjusted accurately.
• Maintain, reinstate, check and commission lubrication equipment, identify and install automatic greasing systems.
• Manual greasing of any critical bearings or equipment; lubrication filter cart management and maintenance.
• Enter notifications into SAP.
• Participate and support the preventative maintenance programs.
• Complete procedural logs and maintenance requests.
• Assist Production and Daywork teams with factory maintenance and remedial work.
• Ensure work orders and related permits are completed and filled out correctly.
• Operate in a work-based team environment and participate in other teams as required.

Your Winning Combination

The successful applicant must have completed a Certificate III Mechanical (Fitting/Maintenance) or (Fitting and Turning), demonstrate a strong commitment to safety with involvement in safety/improvement teams and be willing to learn new skills. Bonus points for applicants who also have Working Safely at Height, Confined Space Entry and Rigger, Dogger and Scaffolder High Risk Work Licences.
