Hachette Australia's applications are open for the 2026 Hachette Australia Internship Program This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join one of Australia's leading book publishers. This full-time internship lasts four months, offers an entry-level salary and is located in our Sydney CBD head office.
About the role
Reporting directly to the CEO, and receiving support from each divisional Director, the successful intern will gain a comprehensive 360-degree view of book publishing. With emphasis on engaged learning, this internship will provide the successful applicant with practical skills and valuable insights across all aspects of trade publishing, helping them to discover their personal interests and empowering them to pursue their ideal career in the industry.
This experience will see the Intern work across each division and experience everything from acquisition and editorial processes to production, sales, distribution, finance, marketing and publicity. The Internship offers a comprehensive overview of the trade publishing industry, with the Intern receiving an in-depth look at how each different department collaborates within a commercial publishing house to bring books to our readers.

About you
The Hachette Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of the leading talent in publishing, and we're looking for someone with a genuine passion and enthusiasm for Australian publishing. No qualifications are required.
This opportunity is for you if you have:
