At Bamara, we are seeking dedicated Job Mentors to join our team for our Prison Release program. As a Job Mentor with a First Nations Specialist Provider under Workforce Australia, you will provide culturally safe, holistic, and tailored support to First Nations clients inside of prisons helping them overcome barriers to employment and achieve meaningful, long-term participation in the workforce upon release. This role will work predominantly in a male prison.

Key responsibilities and main tasks include:
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with First Nations participants and their communities.
- Deliver individualized mentoring and case management support to job seekers in a male prison
- Identify and address barriers to employment, including through referrals to services such as training, housing, health, and community support.
- Develop and implement personalised Job Plans in consultation with participants.
- Liaise with local employers to identify job opportunities and support sustainable placements.
- Facilitate culturally appropriate pre-employment and life skills programs.
- Advocate for participants and support their integration into workplaces.
- Monitor progress toward employment goals and maintain accurate records using internal systems.
- Collaborate with Employment Consultants, Indigenous organisations, and community networks.
- Uphold cultural integrity and ensure services are delivered in a culturally respectful and trauma-informed manner.
- Provide culturally safe post placement support.
- Assist with gathering and entering work participant work information into IT systems
- Assist with collection of employment details, payslips and outcome claim evidence

Minimum requirements
- Must pass and have a current Police Check (ongoing requirement for employment)
- Must not have served a custodial sentence
- Must pass and have a current Working with Children Check and/ or Vulnerable Persons Check (ongoing requirement for employment)
