About Rawlinna

Rawlinna is located 400km east of Kalgoorlie, WA, on the western side of the Nullarbor (a remote location). Rawlinna is known as Australia's largest operational sheep station and covers 1,000,000 hectares. The station is stocked with merino sheep and shearing is carried out annually.

About you

Your key duties and tasks

• Responsible for the Rawlinna Outstation called "The Depot"
• Assist management with livestock programs
• Monitor growth rates and stock condition
• Livestock handling - assist with mustering and processing when required
• Checking watering points including troughs, windmills, tanks and pipelines
• Recording water levels and maintenance from bore runs and communicating with station management for livestock requirements
• Maintenance of mono pump systems (servicing, oils, belts and fuel)
• Solar bore pump systems maintenance (servicing and cleaning)
• Windmill maintenance (full training will be provided)
• Maintain a spare parts inventory for troughs, tanks and pipelines
• Fencing maintenance around outstation

What you will need

• A genuine interest in working and living on a remote sheep station
• Practical experience with sheep and station life
• Unrestricted current drivers licence (manual)
• Observation and communication skills
• Confident with small motors and/or mechanical experience (desirable)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments.

This job can be physically strenuous (demanding) from time to time. You will be expected to be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from kilo's and occasionally more. This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders.
