About the Role:

Madeleine Restaurant is seeking a skilled and passionate Sous-Chef to join our

dynamic team in Highgate, WA. This is a full-time, ongoing position, ideal for a

candidate with strong knowledge of French cuisine and at least 2–3 years of relevant

experience in a fine dining or bistro-style kitchen.

About Us:

Madeleine is a 50-seat French restaurant offering seasonal menus crafted with

premium produce and traditional techniques. Located in the heart of Highgate, we

operate Wednesday to Friday for dinner, and Saturday to Sunday for lunch and

dinner. We pride ourselves on delivering classic French flavours with elegance and

consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

 Assist the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations

 Ensure consistent execution of food preparation and presentation

 Supervise and support kitchen staff during service

 Monitor and manage stock levels, placing orders when necessary

 Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards

 Contribute to new menu development and seasonal specials

 Maintain a clean and efficient work environment

 Cover for the Head Chef during absence or leave

Required Skills and Experience:

 Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience as Sous-Chef or Senior Chef de

Parti

 Strong knowledge of French cuisine and classic culinary techniques

 Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team

 Excellent time management and communication skills

 Knowledge of food cost control and kitchen ordering systems

 Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards (Food Safety Certificate

preferred)

 Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and split shifts as rostered

Work Schedule:

The position requires availability across the following times:

 Wednesday to Sunday (mornings, afternoons, evenings)
