Job Description

Due to business growth, we are seeking a talented Senior Rehabilitation Counsellor, with expertise in specialist assessments and mentoring, to join our team of allied health experts in Liverpool NSW.

As the Senior Rehabilitation Counsellor, you will:

  • Assisting clients in employment or education under various schemes such as workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs;
  • Conducting Vocational Assessments, ETE Assessment, Earning Capacity Assessments, Employability Assessments, Transferrable Skills Assessments, and Labour Market Research;
  • Case management (caseloads are manageable, and our consultants have the support of Rehabilitation Assistants to alleviate administrative tasks); 
  • Applying your clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes;
  • Working with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs;
  • Working collaboratively with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals;
  • Assisting those with an injury or health condition to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes.

Qualifications

You'll be a driven and energetic professional with hopefully all of the qualities below

  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation industry is preferred;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Health Sciences or Rehabilitation Counselling;
  • General or Provisional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or eligibility for Associate or Full membership with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC);
  • Fabulous communication skills - there is a lot of getting to know your clients and stakeholders;
  • Compassion and kindness always go a long way as does empathy;
  • It's the kind of career where well developed time management skills are a must & plus;
  • A current NSW Driver's License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance is a must.
