About Cleaning Services  
The NSW Government's reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the state's Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026.

A team has been established to deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams. Including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management.    

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established Cleaning Services team that plays a key role in ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained environments for all government agencies, students and staff.

As a Cleaning Services Officer, you will support the monitoring and coordination of cleaning contracts across all NSW government agency offices including government schools. From tracking service issues and complaints to helping schedule inspections and preparing reports. This role requires you to work closely with all NSW government agency clients, schools, principals, and contractors to resolve issues quickly and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Knowledge and Experience

• Knowledge of cleaning service delivery standards, compliance requirements, and contractor performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

• Current and valid driver's licence and willingness to travel across the assigned region.  
• Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.  
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
