Jamala Wildlife Lodge, located in the grounds of the National Zoo and Aquarium in Canberra, is one of the country's most highly regarded tourist attractions. Jamala continues to receive worldwide attention and reviews, consistently rating it amongst the top animal lodges in the world. The lodge is a fully inclusive product offering guests the unique opportunity to stay overnight in eighteen African style bungalows and luxury lodge suites, engage in behind the scenes tours and enjoy unique dining experiences. Guests are taken on a 22 hour journey of adventure, excitement and luxury.

We are currently looking for an energetic professional to help lead the day to day operations of Jamala's 50 seat dining room. The 4 course gourmet dinner is generally rated by overnight guests as one of the best dining experiences they have had. Reporting directly to the food & beverage manager, this position will suit someone who is currently working in an upmarket establishment and has exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail and an ability to train and supervise others.

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience in a similar role or solid experience as an F&B attendant and the ability to step up to a more senior role.
  • An ability to train, motivate and supervise your team
  • A proven commitment to upholding excellent customer service standards
  • Ensure Food Safety and OHS regulations are adhered to
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • A professional attitude
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as we serve breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Shifts will vary but predominantly involve evenings.
  • Food Hygiene and Food Safety Supervisor Certificates (preferred)
  • Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol - RSA (Essential)
