Salary: $80,435 – $120,502 (commensurate with experience)

Position Description:

East Preston Islamic College (EPIC) is a K–12, independent, co-educational school located in Melbourne's inner north. A full-time position is available in 2026  for a Secondary Teacher with the ability to teach VCE Biology and Science across Years 7–12. Remuneration will be in accordance with the East Preston Islamic College Teaching Salary Scale (aligned with the Victorian Government Teacher Pay Scale).

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Biology and Science, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCE Study Designs.
• Foster an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of biological concepts.
• Conduct laboratory-based investigations and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student achievement through diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment methods.
• Provide constructive feedback to enhance student learning and academic progress.
• Differentiate instruction to cater for a diverse range of student abilities and learning styles.
• Integrate digital technologies and innovative pedagogical practices into the classroom.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, resource sharing, and best practice.
• Participate in the College's pastoral care and wellbeing initiatives.
• Contribute to the co-curricular and extracurricular life of the school.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
• Undertake other duties as directed by the Vice Principal or Principal.

Position Requirements:

• Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Tertiary qualifications in Education with teaching methods in Biology and/or Science.
• Strong knowledge of the VictorianCurriculum and VCEBiologystudydesign.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching VCEBiology preferred.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire students and foster a lifelong interest in the sciences.
• Commitment to collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to participate in the broader life of the College.
