About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an Ink Mixer to join the Inks Department. Reporting directly to the Ink Applications Manager you will be an energetic and self-motivated individual who demonstrates attention to detail and achieves high quality workmanship. This role is ideal for those seeking to grow in a technically specialised and collaborative environment.
You will be working closely with the Substrate Design and Prepress team to develop master batch samples as required. The bulk white ink manufacture will also be part of your tasks.
Training and Progression
Training will be provided in your role to enhance your technical skills. The incumbents will progress to level 3 Ink Mixer upon demonstrating competence to work instructions and procedures relevant to the level requirements.
As well as mixing press-ready inks to an agreed standard, maintaining the ink rooms to an agreed standard of cleanliness, you will also work closely with press crews to identify variations in ink quality.
Key Selection Criteria
Applicants need to clearly detail and demonstrate in their covering letter their experience in the following areas to be considered for an interview:
1. Ink making/manufacturing
2. Experience in print industry
3. Troubleshooting
Personal Attributes
Strong communication skills, a proactive problem solving approach, and a commitment to safety and manufacturing best practice are essential. You will be part of a technically experienced and supportive team, working in an environment committed to continuous improvement and innovation in bank note print production.
Other Requirements
Please note the successful applicants will be required to work 12 hour rotating shifts, 24/5 operation to ensure adequate skills balance across the three shifts.
In addition, the successful candidates will be required to pass a colour blindness test as well as participate in a Personnel Security Clearance process to obtain clearance to the intermediate level.
