Medico-legal – psychology / psychiatry

$140–$150 per hour – Contractor

We are seeking an experienced psychologist or psychiatrist to prepare medico-legal reports for personal injury cases.

Your reports will contribute to personal injury legal claims by providing psychological / psychiatric assessment and expert opinion regarding a claimant's mental health and functioning following injury. The role involves conducting client assessments (usually videoconference) and preparing comprehensive written reports while working from home.

• Registered psychologist or psychiatrist (AHPRA/ RANZCP registration required)
• Minimum 7 years' experience, ideally including some time in medico-legal or insurance settings

• Ability to work independently

• You must enjoy writing and be good at it

• Medico-legal experience preferred but not essential – training is provided

• Flexible working arrangements
• Typically 1–2 reports per month (approx. 15–30 hours per month)
• Suitable for an experienced consultant seeking additional work or someone looking for flexible hours to balance with other commitments
