Pass Master

Overview:

Happy Boy is hiring an experienced FOH Pass Master to run the pass in a high-volume, high-pressure Chinese restaurant. This role is critical to maintaining service flow and communication between the kitchen and FOH. Candidates must have strong service experience, leadership skills, and the ability to manage fast-paced operations with precision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the pass during service
• Coordinate communication between BOH and FOH
• Ensure all dishes meet quality, accuracy, and dietary requirements
• Control the flow of orders and pacing of food delivery
• Handle issues with missing items, delays, or incorrect plating
• Maintain awareness of all allergy and dietary modifications
• Support floor staff with timing, updates, and running food

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years in a high-volume FOH or pass role
• Strong knowledge of food safety, allergens, and dietary restrictions
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills
• Proven ability to stay calm and effective under pressure
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Must be available evenings and weekends

Desirable:

• Experience in Asian or Chinese cuisine
• Lightspeed 'Bump it' docket system
• Familiarity with basic kitchen operations
• Ability to memorize complex menus and modifiers
