Toowong State School is seeking applications for a Deputy Principal to join the school community in a full time position commencing January 2026.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work collegially within the leadership team and teachers with an improvement agenda to lift the percentage of students B+ results in English.

Experiences working with students with disabilities would be preferable.

Who We Are:

Toowong State School is unique in that it has a strong connection to the Deaf community with a population of approximately 50 Deaf and hard of hearing students enrolled in 7 bilingual bicultural classrooms.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

  • Provide strategic leadership for inclusion across the school, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities and delivering targeted professional development to build staff capability.
  • Manage timetabling and rostering for inclusion teachers and support staff, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet student needs.
  • Work closely with the Bilingual and Bicultural Program, school leadership team, and staff to enhance outcomes for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
  • Lead and coordinate school-wide processes for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Chair and guide the Student Support Team, overseeing case management and resource allocation to support diverse learners.
  • Liaise with departmental Advisory Visiting Teachers (AVTs), physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other regional specialists to deliver integrated support for students.
  • Exercise responsibility for human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources to achieve strategic school goals and improve student outcomes.
