Zayed College for Girls is a Year 7 to 13, state integrated, special character Muslim school with a roll of 200 students. The school prioritises the statement: "Educate a woman, Educate a nation". Zayed College for Girls was established in 2001 and is situated in Mangere, Auckland, New Zealand. Although a small school, it has the potential to grow and is well supported by the school's proprietors' board. It has a modern environment with good amenities including a heated pool, gymnasium and a spectacular outdoor play area. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary Tumuaki/Principal with outstanding interpersonal skills able to progress and transform the direction of our school. This is a tagged position, and as such, a condition of appointment is that the principal will have a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the school. Accommodation may be available.

• Committed to bicultural Aotearoa/New Zealand, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and motivated to develop meaningful local iwi connections;


• Inclusive, and skilled at engaging, consulting and collaborating with an active and diverse community;


• Focused on lifting achievement and student attendance through extending curriculum options, the provision of effective conditions for learning and student agency;


• Knowledge of modern pedagogy and effective practice within a specialised curriculum and commitment to a wide array of extra-curricular activities;


• Adept at empowering, inspiring and building leadership capability within the school;


• Committed to staff and student well-being and positive behaviour practices;


• A strategic, lateral and visionary thinker;


• A sense of humour, strong communication and interpersonal skills, visibility and presence; and


• Adept management of property, resources, staffing and finances to achieve vision and goals.

The position commences Term 1, 2026.
