Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook who is confident in a fast-paced kitchen, has a strong understanding of café-style food, and can work across multiple areas of the kitchen when needed. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in food presentation, consistency, and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes to a high standard

  • Maintain consistency in quality, portion control, and presentation

  • Support stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation

  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times

  • Assist with prep, kitchen clean down, and dishwashing as required

  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen staff

  • Contribute to menu development or specials when needed

  • Is open to learning or already has some experience in baking

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar café or fast-paced kitchen

  • Strong knowledge of breakfast/lunch service and short-order cooking

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure during busy periods

  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player

  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude

  • Food Safety Certification (desirable)

  • Available to work weekdays and weekends as rostered
