Athlete Development & Performance Coordinator

West Adelaide Football Club

West Adelaide Football Club is seeking a passionate and experienced Athlete Development & Performance Coordinator to lead the club's High Performance Program, including the Senior Men's team while providing oversight across our Centre of Excellence (U16s & U18s) and Women's programs.

This key leadership position plays a central role in driving elite standards of physical preparation, injury prevention, and player performance throughout the club.

Key Responsibilities:
  • High Performance Leadership:

    Lead and implement a modern, evidence-based high-performance program across the pre-season, in-season, and off-season phases.
  • Program Implementation & Evaluation:

    Continuously monitor, assess, and refine programs to ensure optimal player development and performance outcomes.
  • Injury Prevention & Rehab Support:

    Work closely with medical staff (doctors, physios, trainers) to manage rehabilitation and reduce injury risks through targeted S&C strategies.
  • Coaching Collaboration:

    Partner with senior coaches and football staff to align physical preparation with game plans and on-field performance.
  • Compliance & Ethics:

    Ensure adherence to ASADA standards and professional best practices in all high-performance activities.
  • Staff Oversight:

    Guide and support Strength & Conditioning Coaches across the U16s, U18s, and Women's programs to ensure alignment with the club's high-performance vision.
  • Student Development:

    Oversee and mentor university placement students involved in various club programs.
Key Tasks:
  • Collaborate with the Senior Coaches, Head of Football & Talent, Women's Football Manager, and Talent Manager to improve strategies and support for S&C staff club-wide.
  • Ensure all high-performance staff are properly trained and competent in their roles; deliver training as needed.
  • Attend and actively contribute to regular football department and coaching meetings, as well as scheduled team training sessions.
