The Opportunity
Monash Business School is seeking an outstanding academic to join the Department of Business Law and Taxation and contribute to the continued success of the Monash Tax Clinic. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of tax education and practice by leading innovative, real-world learning experiences for students while engaging with government and industry on contemporary tax issues.
Whether you are an emerging academic (Level B) or an experienced practitioner-scholar (Level C), you will play a key role in developing and delivering the Tax Clinic units (BEX3115 and BEX5115), supervising student projects, and fostering meaningful collaborations with industry and government. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives that strengthen the department's engagement with the broader tax ecosystem, including the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute.
This role offers a platform to influence tax policy and administration through applied research, teaching, and public engagement, while working within a supportive and forward-thinking academic environment.
About You
You are a passionate educator and practitioner with expertise in taxation, tax policy, or tax administration. You bring a strong commitment to student learning and real-world impact, and you thrive in collaborative, cross-sector environments.
At Level B, you will have a developing track record of teaching and engagement, with the ability to contribute to industry-focused projects and support student learning through supervision and mentoring.
At Level C, you will bring leadership in teaching and research, with demonstrated experience in building partnerships with government and industry, contributing to policy discussions, and supervising higher degree research students.
Regardless of level, you are committed to advancing the public understanding of tax and empowering the next generation of tax professionals through innovative, practice-based education.
