Operating across 200 acres in Woorinen, Victoria, the company specialises in growing and packing premium stone fruit, including peaches and nectarines, for both domestic distribution and international export. The business is seeking a full-time qualified Mobile Plant Operator.

The salary offered is $76,515 per annum plus superannuation.

The Mobile Plant Operator will be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Prepare and position farm machinery and equipment for daily operations in the orchard areas.

  2. Operate tractor-drawn and self-propelled machinery to cultivate soil, apply fertiliser, spray crops, and assist in harvesting peaches and nectarines.

  3. Adjust machinery settings, including speed, height, and depth of implements, to suit varying soil conditions and crop requirements.

  4. Maintain machinery in good working condition by cleaning, checking fluids, and performing minor servicing and repairs.

  5. Complete work records and equipment logs accurately to track usage and maintenance.

The Mobile Plant Operator is required to have the following qualifications and experience:

· A relevant AQF Cert II or equivalent AND at least 1 year (20+ hours per week) relevant experience; OR

· 2 years (10+ hours per week) of relevant experience AND 2 years of post-qualification experience.

The Mobile Plant Operator will have the following qualities and skills:

  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous farming or horticulture experience is highly desirable.
