My Gateway have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Painter and Decorator to join Parramatta City Council.

As part of this apprenticeship you will gain a nationally recognised qualification - Certificate III in Painting and Decorating

As part of the apprenticeship, some of your responsibilities may include:

• Determine and apply graffiti removal chemicals and paint coatings for appropriate treatment, type and quantity of materials in accordance with acceptable trade standards and education
• Interpret plans, set out and line mark carparks, traffic calming devices and road pavement marking.
• Assist other operational areas, when required particularly in wet weather or other emergencies, to meet community needs.
• Complete any necessary paperwork/online associated with team activities.
• Display awareness of costs and ensure that the team operations are undertaken within the allocated budget.
• Provide feedback and input on improvements in operating procedures, programs and work schedules, including upgrading or improvements to plant, equipment, materials and tools used by the team.
• Assist the public with enquiries regarding Council activities in a helpful and positive manner to enhance the image of Council and its staff.

To be considered, you must:

• Hold a current NSW Drivers License
• Have a current White Card (Or willing to obtain)
• The capacity to undertake the physical requirements of the position and area of specialisation.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
• Demonstrated painting aptitude with an interest in learning a hands-on trade.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literate and ability to effectively use a computer or iPad.
