About the role

Reporting into the Head Coach, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Cricket ACT Meteors coaching staff as an Assistant Coach. The Meteors are the elite women's cricket team in the Australian Capital Territory, competing in the Women's National Cricket League. In this full-time position, you will play a key role in supporting the development and performance of our talented squad of athletes.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Head Coach in developing and implementing training plans and programs to optimise the performance of the Meteors squad
  • Provide technical and tactical coaching to individual players to help them improve their skills and game awareness
  • Analyse player and team performance data to identify areas for improvement and monitor progress
  • Support the management of the team's off-field activities, including travel logistics, equipment and facilities
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and environment to foster player engagement and wellbeing
  • Collaborate with the broader Cricket ACT coaching and support staff to align development pathways

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a cricket coach, preferably at an elite or high-performance level
  • Proven track record in developing and improving the technical and tactical skills of cricketers
  • Strong understanding of the laws and playing conditions of cricket, as well as the latest coaching methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with players, coaches and support staff
  • Ability to analyse performance data and devise data-driven training plans
  • Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g. Cricket Australia Level 2 or above)
  • Willingness to travel with the team and work irregular hours as required
