We are seeking a Telecommunication Drafter / GIS Officer to join our Geographical Information Systems Team. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering the next generation of telecommunication services.

You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and analysts to maintain accurate records of a large-scale national optical network. Your attention to detail will ensure geographical network data and asset management systems are kept precise and up to date, supporting fibre optical construction design, management, and maintenance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage geographical network data and databases, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Understand and document fibre network components:

  • Inside plant: racks, patch panels, tie cables, passive/active rack-mounted equipment (ODPs, FOBOTs, routers, optical systems, servers, etc).

  • Outside plant: fibre cables, joints, splicing, pits, ducts.
  • Interpret and work with single-line fibre connectivity diagrams and splicing diagrams.
  • Support asset management for fibre optic construction and maintenance projects.

About You
  • Australian citizen (essential).
  • Experienced with AutoCAD and confident with a variety of office software applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Able to work independently while maintaining clear communication.
  • Previous experience in the utilities industry (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with Jira (beneficial).
