About the role

De Gunst Transport Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter - Heavy Vehicle to join our growing team in Gracemere, Queensland. This full-time role is an integral part of maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently on the roads. As a Fitter - Heavy Vehicle, you will play a vital role in keeping our business moving.

What you'll be doing

  1. Diagnose and repair faults in a range of heavy vehicles and equipment
  2. Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance according to manufacturer specifications
  3. Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble components and systems
  4. Liaise with the workshop team and management to provide updates on work progress
  5. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard within agreed timeframes
  6. Maintain accurate records of work undertaken
  7. Uphold workplace health and safety standards at all times

What we're looking for

  1. Formal trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Fitter
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Fitter - Heavy Vehicle in a commercial or industrial setting
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of heavy vehicle systems and components
  4. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  6. Excellent communication and customer service skills
  7. Commitment to workplace health and safety
