Senior Security Systems Administrator (TSPV) – Infrastructure & Cloud

Step into a senior role with a high-profile national security agency, where you'll design, implement and sustain complex ICT security capabilities across Windows, Linux, virtualisation, SAN, cloud and networking environments, including modern platforms such as SIEM, SOAR and vulnerability management that safeguard critical systems—on a long-term contract with multi-year extension options across QLD, ACT, VIC and SA.

Location: QLD, ACT, VIC, SA (primarily onsite; limited WFH by approval)

Contract Duration: 12-month initial contract with 2 x 12-month extension options (up to 3 years), estimated start 18 May 2026

Security Clearance Requirement: You must be an Australian citizen with an active TSPV (Positive Vetting) security clearance

Essential Tasks

  • Execute systems engineering activities to design, develop, integrate, deploy and sustain key ICT security capabilities (COTS, GOTS and in-house tools).
  • Plan and lead implementation and maintenance of complex environments spanning Windows and Linux systems, SAN, physical/virtual servers and a small desktop fleet.
  • Implement and support enterprise security platforms including SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability management and asset discovery solutions.
  • Ensure reliability and performance through standardised configuration, backups, automation scripting and use of network management tools, while maintaining clear technical documentation.

Key Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience administering and integrating capabilities such as SIEM, SOAR, CDS, vulnerability management, data pipelines, on-prem infrastructure, cloud and/or storage.
  • Strong knowledge of information security principles, practices and technologies in complex, secure environments.
  • Proven track record as a technical leader uplifting or implementing new ICT security capabilities end-to-end.
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT (or equivalent training and experience), with experience in large, secure government technical environments highly regarded.
