SMSF Accountant - Senior Manager Position at HLB Mann Judd

About the opportunity:

Our Wollongong based SMSF Accounting division is seeking the right candidate to fulfil a 12 month contract period to assist in covering current employees on maternity leave. The wealth of opportunities this position holds includes working within a great team and that of a strong business acumen.

As part of the HLB Mann Judd (Wollongong) team, you will be working with a diverse range of clients, using a diverse range of accounting software packages, adding value to your knowledge and skill base.

You will also enjoy ongoing mentorship and personal development working alongside like-minded individuals in our Wollongong based office, positioned in the Wollongong CBD only steps away from cafes and restaurants, the shopping precinct and only minutes from our beaches.

You will report directly to the Partner, assisting with the management of client relationships and finding appropriate solutions for client needs. You will also assist with the management, training and development of team members.

For the right motivated, ambitious and dedicated candidate there is the possibility of continued employment past 12 month contract period.

About you:

• Past years experience in professional public practice with superior SMSF technical knowledge and strategies

• Completed a Commerce/Business Degree majoring in Accounting

• If not already completed, is due to finalise their CA/CPA shortly

• Exceptional communication (verbal and written)

• Experience with Class, Xero / XPM highly desirable

• Outstanding people skills that allow genuine, authentic communication with fellow co-workers and clients alike

• Able to manage a select group of clients and team of staff, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of online reporting, year-end financial statements.

• Maintaining the ongoing compliance obligations and administrative requirements, including Liaising with the auditors regarding technical and compliance matters

• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, not only meeting deadlines but overall aiming to exceed client expectations for an unparalleled delivery of service

• Passionate about contributing to a great team culture as you are about serving clients and making a difference

• Maintain and build relationships with existing networks of accountants and financial advisers

• Inherent problem-solving skills and an inquisitive mind
