About the role

The Field Engineer will be technically proficient and in a hands-on role, responsible for the configuration, testing, and commissioning of complex audio visual systems. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while exceeding client expectations.

The ideal candidate posses strong audio/video signal flow knowledge, experience programming control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX), audio DSP platforms (Biamp, QSC), and excellent troubleshooting skills. Must be able to read technical drawings, communicate effectively, work independently/in a team, and be proficient with Microsoft Office. A valid driver's license, car, Australian citizenship (preferable), and AGSVA clearance are also required for travel and accessing secure materials.

Day to day responsibilities

  • Installation & Configuration:
  • Configure AV systems including control systems, video switchers, and network devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Build AV racks
  • Commissioning & Testing:
  • Perform comprehensive testing of audio, video, and control systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Calibrate audio and video systems to meet specified performance standards.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Design Engineers to ensure systems meet design specifications.
  • Client Interaction & Support:
  • Provide on-site technical support to clients during commissioning and training.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain system functionality and address any concerns.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare detailed reports on system performance and any issues encountered.
  • Marking up system schematics and manuals.
