About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead our Paediatric and Neonatal Specialist Clinics and Immunisation Services. This pivotal leadership role provides visible and accessible management, ensuring the delivery of safe, coordinated and high-quality patient-centred care. The NUM will oversee operational, professional and clinical service management, while fostering a culture of inclusiveness, innovation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strong and visible leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including workforce management, patient flow, budget oversight, and achievement of KPIs
  • Develop and deliver the clinical area business plan, aligning with divisional and organisational strategic priorities
  • Mentor, support and manage staff to build capability and ensure high standards of care
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe, person-centred care and drive service innovation

About you

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years post-registration with demonstrated leadership and management experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial, workforce and clinical governance systems
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build and empower teams
  • Postgraduate qualifications in management or relevant clinical field (desirable)
  • Experience in ambulatory/outpatient services and knowledge of Department of Health access policies (desirable)
